Consumer Decision Making
District 2 has developed a video on
4-H Consumer Decision Making and has posted it on You Tube. The video is in two parts, so please view both of the videos. The videos discuss the Consumer Education project and the CDM Contest. The contest portion is broken down into: how to coach a team, a sample class and reasons.

2010 Scholarship Information
Dates and times for the District 2 scholarship trainings (Nov - Jan) are posted on the district calendar. Check with your respective county office for the application deadline.

Forms and Instructions

Applications for 4-H volunteers to serve on the 4-H Volunteer Leaders' Association of Texas (VLAT) Board of Directors are due to District Office by November 15, 2009. Two volunteers will be selected from each district. See details on pg. 11 of the Texas 4-H Today Newsletter (posted below).

This state-wide program is a leadership development camp for senior 4-H members age 13 and older. Register on 4-H Connect will be open from Nov. 15 - Dec. 28, 2009.

March 20-25, 2010
Texas is striving to send a delegation of at least 10 youth and 2 adults. 4-H members between the ages of 15 and 18 should apply before the deadline of November 15, 2009. Applications go on-line via 4-H CONNECT on September 15, 2009.

Standardized Age Categories for Texas 4-H & Youth Development for all 2009-2010 projects, events, and contests:

Junior: 8 and in the 3rd grade, 9 and 10 as of August 31
(Birth date is between September 1, 1998 – August 31, 2001)

Intermediate: 11, 12, 13 as of August 31
(Birth date is between September 1, 1995 – August 31, 1998)

Senior: 14-18 as of August 31
(Birth date is between September 1, 1990 – August 31, 1995)
