TEXAS PONY OF THE AMERICAS CLUB 2009 4-H ESSAY CONTEST Junior 4-H club members between the ages of 9 (or entered in the third grade) and 13 as of August 31, 2007 are qualified to enter.

3rd Annual District 2 4-H Officer Training - 2:00pm Monday, August 3rd @ Animal & Food Sciences Department, TTU. Then at 5:30pm we will have "Summer Spectacular" (formerly Fall Forum). The evening will begin with the District 2 4-H Council and VLAT business meetings. At 6:30, excellent sessions will be offered for both youth and adults.

VLAT is asking for loose change and bills to be brought to the Summer Spectacular.We will weigh monies donated and announce a county winner at the end of the evening.

Standardized Age Categories for Texas 4-H & Youth Development for all projects, events, and contests:

Junior: 8 and in the 3rd grade, 9 and 10 as of August 31
(Birth date is between September 1, 1997 – August 31, 2000)

Intermediate: 11, 12, 13 as of August 31
(Birth date is between September 1, 1994 – August 31, 1997)

Senior: 14-18 as of August 31
(Birth date is between September 1, 1989 – August 31, 1994)

To provide quality, relevant outreach and continuing education programs and services to the people of South Plains District 2.
